A distinctive and very fine quality 30 hour clock by this well regarded Shropshire maker John Baddely of Albrighton and Tong


A very elegant clock from top to bottom - the case of oak with mahogany and  is well detailed with much crossbanding and chequer inlay.


The silvered brass dial centre is beautifully engraved








John Baddely is recorded as a fine clockmaker  - the son of a blacksmith  George and his wife Sarah.  John was baptised  20th September 1727 at Tong in Shropshire. 


With his wife Martha he raised a veritable dynasty of clockmakers.  He moved to  Albrighton  Shropshire in 1795.  A great deal of family history is documented
