The town of
Llanrwst in the Conwy Valley of North Wales was home to several generations of the Owen Family of Clockmakers. The work of
Watkin Owen is particularly sought after and was the subject of a survey conducted by the authors Colin and Mary Brown in collaboration with the Welsh Folk Museum at Saint Fagans Cardiff. This clock featured in the survey and is noted inside the case. A copy of the resulting book is available to the purchaser. Standing only 72" high this is a diminutive clock yet remains supremely elegant - its proportions are perfect. The colour and patination together with great provenance are are real bonus.
By any measure this is an exceptional Welsh Grandfather Clock
